The Foremost Municipal Library opened in June, 1987 to serve the Village of Foremost
and the surrounding area in the County of Forty Mile.
The goals of the library are:
- to serve as a reliable information center providing educational and developmental
services in an organized and up to date fashion.
- to provide opportunity and encouragement for continuing education to all people in the
community.
- to be supportive of all other recreational, educational and cultural groups and
activities within the community.
- to strive to identify community need on an ongoing basis, and to attempt to provide a
service that will meet those needs.
The Foremost Municipal Library is a member of the Shortgrass Regional Library System. This allows members access to borrowing privileges in all of the member libraries: Foremost,
Bow Island,
Medicine Hat,
Ralston,
Redcliff and
Brooks, as well as many other Alberta
libraries that have signed reciprocal borrowing agreements with Shortgrass.
