New Online Catalogue at Shortgrass Library System

IPAC is the name for our new internet catalog -- use it to search Shortgrass Library System member library holdings

• use it to search Shortgrass Library System member library holdings and place holds
• you can use patron empowerment features -- use the Your Information tab to view your holds list, cancel holds, delay holds, renew items, send comments to the library
• you now see book covers, reviews, summaries, etc. for many of the items in our libraries
• includes links to other internet based resources
• you can use it to search for community information -- organizations, events, quick facts
• community information included for whole Shortgrass and Palliser region (partnership with the Healthy Communities consortium)
• Childrens PAC available -- search using icons and by keyword (searches children's materials only)
• Each of our member libraries will have versions of this PAC available in the library as well soon

It is different

• you do NOT need to download a JAVA file before you start
• IPAC navigation uses TABS across the top, and the normal option boxes on the screen
• you use all of your browser features including the back and forward arrows
• you can use the open new browser window whenever you wish. To use this right-click on the link and select Open in New Window.
• internet services are included in IPAC and some tabs will actually take you to another internet website
• you can use the LOGIN / MY ACCOUNT feature and the computer then has your barcode/PIN at the ready when you place holds. The login button is located at the top right of the screen.
• use the RED ? for more information about you options in IPAC (help screens). This is located at the top right of the screen.

We have prepared IPAC so it displays best at 800x600 display setting (check under your control panel). It is possible that IPAC may be too wide for your browser window. You can use the side scroller at the bottom to view the whole page.
