News and Upcoming Events for Shortgrass Member Libraries

At the recent Jasper Conference (Library Association of Alberta and The Alberta Library Trustees Association), two awards were announced.

The Alberta Library Trustees Assocciation selected the Brooks Public Library for the 2009 Award of Excellence.

The Library Association of Alberta 2009 President's Award was given to Bob Batchelder, Assistant director of the Shortgrass Library System.

Conferences for those interested in libraries:

Southern Alberta Library Conference "Put your library in the spotlight!" Is held by the Chinook Arch Library System - March 4th and 5th, 2011 in Lethbridge.

Canadian Library Association Check their web site to see the upcoming 2011 conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia (May 25 to May 28, 2011).

The Alberta Library Association Conference "Open Doors, Open Minds, Open Access" will held in Jasper April 28-May 1, 2011.

AALT Conference The 2011 AALT Conference "Get Connected" will be held in Edmonton May 26 - 29, 2011. AALT = Alberta Association of Library Technicians
